Chicago Energy Benchmarking: Pro-Bono Data Verification

Instructions: Please use this application to request pro-bono data verification support for buildings that do not have access to a recognized data verifier and for which the data verification requirement would cause undue financial hardship.

(Note: Financial distress exemptions are available for buildings that are subject to a qualified tax lien sale or public auction due to property tax arrearages, controlled by a court appointed receiver, or acquired by a deed in lieu of foreclosure.  Click HERE to access the exemption form for financial distress.)

Requests for pro-bono support will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications submitted by May 15th, 2019 will receive preferential consideration.

Applicants for pro-bono support will receive an email response within two weeks of submitting this application.

Pro-bono support is available for data verification; however, initial benchmarking of the property should be completed by the property owner, property manager, or additional property representative, to the greatest extent possible. Free training, the Chicago Energy Benchmarking Help Center, and other resources are available to enable property owners and managers to complete energy benchmarking.
